M.I.A. is back with her brand new single Beep.
The celebratory track looks back on the musician’s decades-long career and is set to feature on her forthcoming album ‘Mata’.
‘Went from tryna pay the rent / Used a pen on men and made a dent / Yeah time and again / Make it go top 10,’ she sings.
The release comes ahead of M.I.A.’s new long-player – her first since 2016’s ‘AIM’ and sixth overall – which has experienced several delays in recent months.
Reflecting on the hold-up in an Instagram Story at the end of August, she penned: “I had to wait 2 years for a Doja Cat verse…. Then a Nicki one… Then a…. Never mind. If Mata isn’t out [September] I will leak it myself.”
‘Mata’ is set for release on October 14 and is available to pre-order now.
