Louise has lauded Madonna as the inspiration behind the music video for her 1996 hit single Naked. 

The steamy visual for the third single from her debut solo album of the same name helped the former Eternal star secure her first UK Top 5 hit, which she credits to the Queen of Pop’s fearlessness throughout her career. 

“Without Madonna so many of us wouldn’t have been doing what we were doing,” she told MailOnline. “I did the Naked video and there’s no way I would have done it if Madonna hadn’t been around. 

“She was pushing boundaries and wasn’t afraid to be herself and as an artist that’s incredibly inspiring.”

This summer, Louise will release her new ‘Greatest Hits’ collection, including Naked plus tracks from her 30-year career, both as a solo artist and with the R&B group. 

Of the collection, she added: “There’s so many awful things going on in the world and I feel so lucky to be doing what I’m doing. 

“It’s been 30 years since I first released music. 30 years. I can’t believe it. I feel so lucky that I’m still able to do this.”
