Belinda Carlisle returns with her first pop collection in more than 25 years, ‘Kismet’.
Written by Diane Warren – who penned The Go-Go’s star’s classic solo hit I Get Weak – the set includes the hit single Big Big Love, along with If U Go, Deeper Into You, I Couldn’t Do That To Me and Sanity.
Discussing working with the singer again, Diane says: “I’m so excited for everyone to hear Belinda’s new record. She’s never sounded better.
“It’s so great to be working together again after all these years. From I Get Weak and now to Big Big Love, a new chapter has begun. I can’t wait for everyone to hear these new hits!”
Belinda adds: “Twenty-seven years on from making my last English language pop record I really wasn’t thinking I would ever make one again… and I was quite happy with that idea.
“Then a chance encounter in a coffee shop led me back to the wonderful Diane Warren and she gave me the incredible gift of this song and the other songs on my upcoming EP.”
“Diane’s songwriting is both a joy and mystery to me,” continues the Leave a Light On star. “She makes it look so easy, where I imagine it must be unbelievably hard, to do what she does so amazingly well over so many years and so many records.
“I can’t thank her enough for writing this music for me and I only hope everyone else loves it as much as I do.”

Belinda shared details of her latest project in an exclusive interview with RETROPOP’s January 2023 issue, revealing she’s also working on a brand new studio album with writer and producer Gabe Lopez.
“The working title is ‘Once Upon a Time in California’, because that’s really where it all began for me. Everything’s done, all the artwork – I just have to finish the songs,” she said. “After I made ‘Wilder Shores’, people were complaining like, ‘Why don’t you do something in English?’ And I said, ‘Well, whatever I do has to really mean something’.
“After I got sober, ‘Voila’ was the first time I was able to work from the heart and just love what I was doing. I have to really love it; I can’t just put out an English-language pop album for the sake of it. So that’s why this is a surprise. I didn’t really expect to get excited about the classic pop songs until I was given the most amazing songs from Diane.”
