Lily Allen is working on her fifth studio album – her first in six years – in Nashville.
The Not Fair singer released her most-recent LP, ‘No Shame’, in 2018, and after taking time out from music she’s headed to Music City to work on its follow-up.
“I’m in Nashville where everyone is really good. There’s so much legacy,” she said on her Miss Me? Podcast. “I have to say it’s quite intimidating being here. People are really talented.”
However, it seems she’s already making strides, with Lily adding: “I wrote a song yesterday which was quite good, I’m happy with it.”
Speaking to fans on X, the Smile singer recently revealed work is well underway on her new album and, when one user asked about the 40 songs she apparently recorded for the yet-to-materialise project, she responded, “It’s more like 50 now,” with a winking face emoji.
One track, Party Line, was first performed at the Way Out West Festival six years ago, but Allen had a disappointing update for those hoping it could still materialise on a future project.
On the whereabouts of the studio version, she shared: “IN A DROPBOX OR A WETRANSFER THAT I CANT REMEMBER THE USERNAME LET ALONE THE PASSWORDS FOR.”
