Kylie Minogue is eyeing a 2021 tour for her latest album DISCO.
The pop legend’s latest LP proved a firm fan favourite and broke UK chart records, cementing Kylie’s place in history as the first female artist to land No. 1 albums across five consecutive decades: the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, ’10s and ’20s.
Speaking to Pure Charts, the hitmaker muses on touring the record – following her hugely successful Infinite Disco live stream – and teases the show will likely hit the road next year.
“You have to manage the logistics because many artists have to reschedule their tours. It’s going to be a bit of a traffic jam,” she says of the lasting effects of the pandemic. “But I really want this album to have a chance on the road.
“I hope so ! I really want to. To take a giant mirror ball to the four corners of the world! I have some ideas,” teases Kylie. “I like the idea of singing everywhere, I don’t know how soon it will be possible.
“Doing the virtual concert Infinite Disco gave me an idea of how these songs can sound live, and I really want to offer them with a band, and with an audience!
“I want it to be madness, for everyone to be ecstatic! And let there be emotion as well. Things that only music, being together and good energy can convey. I will love this tour more than anything, I can feel it.”
Kylie previously teased her DISCO tour will offer up something different for audiences, noting: “The theme is that you’re all hot and sweaty and in it together, but could be in a crowded room and shut your eyes, let the music and feeling in, and you could be in your own world.
“I imagine it as a tour, but done in the round. You normally want people to watch the show but I think in this case, part of it would encourage you to shut your eyes and feel the energy, added the Say Something hitmaker.
In our review of the album, Retro Pop said DISCO is “packed with upbeat, care-free ’70s inspired dance music – and, frankly, that’s just what we needed right now”.
