Kim Wilde is back with her new single Shine On featuring Boy George.
The singer debuted the lush ballad on the Steve Wright show on BBC Radio Two on Thursday, June 24, and subsequently released the tune on digital platforms. A limited edition 7″ single is also available.
The track is the first to be lifted from the Chequered Love star’s new retrospective collection ‘Pop Don’t Stop: Greatest Hits’.
Arriving 40 years after the release of her massive debut hit Kids in America, the set comes courtesy of Cherry Red Records and is available in a standard 2CD format, along with a 5CD + 2DVD box set.
The 2CD edition features the radio edits of many of Kim’s classic hits, including Kids in America, You Came, You Keep Me Hangin’ On, Love is Holy and Kandy Krush, as well as two brand new tracks – Shine On and You’re My Karma with Tom Aspaul.
Earlier this year, Kim’s brother and producer Ricky Wilde spoke exclusively to Retro Pop about the new Greatest Hits collection, and shared details about the new collaborations with Boy George and Tom Aspaul.
He revealed: “There will be a few new tracks on the Greatest Hits. We’ve got two duets. One of them is Boy George. He’s guested on a track that Kimmy and I wrote with Fredrik Thomander in Italy.
“It’s a beautiful track and I really look forward to hearing everybody’s reactions on that.
“There’s another track that we’ve got on the album that we’re doing with a new guy singer called Tom Aspaul,” added Ricky. “Tom is going to be guesting on one of the other tracks, which has a kind of George Michael vibe to it.
