The life and career of ’80s pop icon Kim Wilde is set to be told in a brand new biography, due for release in June.

‘Pop Don’t Stop: A Biography’ is written by Marcel Rijs, with Kim contributing exclusive quotes to tell the story of her journey.

“Marcel Rijs has followed Kim’s career from the start,” reads an author profile. “In 1996 he started a website about her, which eventually became her official fansite wilde-life.com.

“He was involved in several compilation CD’s and reissues of Kim’s early albums.

“After writing the liner notes for Kim’s first three albums, released by Cherry Pop last year, he was inspired to write a full biography.”

In addition to the book itself, the first 1,000 orders come signed by the author – with optional dedication – along with a two track CD featuring a pair of rarities.

An early mix of the single Child Come Away, recorded early September, 1982, is included, along with Sparks (Rough Mix) from the album ‘Catch as Catch Can’.

‘Pop Don’t Stop: A Biography’ is available to pre-order now.

Kim will be celebrating 40 years since the release of her debut single, Kids in America, this year, with her brother, producer and co-writer Ricky Wilde, revealing a new Greatest Hits collection is on the way.

Speaking exclusively to Retro Pop, he teased the collection will feature all of the star’s singles plus a handful of new songs.

“There will be a few new tracks on the Greatest Hits. We’ve got two duets,” he revealed. “One of them is Boy George. He’s guested on a track that Kimmy and I wrote with Fredrik Thomander in Italy.

“It’s a beautiful track and I really look forward to hearing everybody’s reactions on that.

“There’s another track that we’ve got on the album that we’re doing with a new guy singer called Tom Aspaul,” added Ricky.

“Tom is going to be guesting on one of the other tracks, which has a kind of George Michael vibe to it.

“So it’s exciting times, we’re still we’re still working with great people and still doing wonderful things.”

Kim previously collaborated with Boy George on Name and Number, taken from his new album ‘Cool Karaoke, Vol. 1’, and she’s set to appear on a new version of W.M. on Tom’s upcoming ‘Black Country Disco’ remix album.
