Kesha is celebrating her independence by releasing her new single Joy Ride on July 4.
The track is the first to be issued on the star’s own label and comes following a series of teasers that have seen the Your Love Is My Drug singer appear at several US gas stations for impromptu photo shoots.
Confirming the release on social media, she wrote, “You’re right, I am a bitch. JOYRIDE ♡ 7/4,” along with a snippet of her new single.

The TikTok hitmaker signed to her former label Kemosabe Records at the age of 18 in 2005 and has been at the centre of legal battles in recent years pertaining to the contract.
Now, after nearly two decades her obligations are complete and the singer is free to release music on her own terms.
“First day I’ve owned my voice in 19 years. Welcome,” she announced on social media earlier this year.
Having launched a new website, she also sent out a newsletter to fans, saying: “Animals. I’ve waited for this day for more than half of my life. All of my adult life
“There is so much more that I have to say, and experiences we have to share.”
“This is the time for our joy ride. We made it… and I wasn’t alone thanks to each of you. Thank you.
“So much is on the horizon… But for now… Freedom. I’ve been waiting for you.”
The new material serves as the follow-up to Kesha’s 2023 album ‘Gag Order’, which RETROPOP called “a bold, defiant statement” that’s “destined to become her magnum opus”.
