Jake Shears is desperate to make another Scissor Sisters record.
The singer released four albums with the group and scored hits like I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’, Laura, Filthy/Gorgeous and Let’s Have a Kiki.
They released their last album ‘Magic Hour’ in 2012 and, after a decade working solo, Jake’s ready to reunite with Ana Matronic and co for another record.
He tells NME: “I really want to make another Scissors record – I don’t know when that’s gonna be.
“I feel like I’m making the music [now] that I would be making if Scissor Sisters were still together.
“I think everybody would need to want to do it. I don’t wanna twist anybody’s arm – that would just be no fun.”
However, he ruled out the idea of a reunion tour just for nostalgia, as he doesn’t want to rely on past successes for a comeback. .
He insisted: “I don’t think I would be into that. I would want to make new music.”Jake released his self-titled solo album in 2018 and has released a string of singles – including 2021 cuts Do The Television and Neon Lights – ahead of a second outing.
