Celebrating the LP that took them straight into the Top 5 of the UK Albums Chart, Hurts are marking 15 years of ‘Happiness’ with a new double-disc reissue.
Available on 2LP vinyl for the first time, the anniversary package includes the original 2010 record – featuring the breakout singles Better Than Love, Wonderful Life and Stay – plus a selection of new-to-vinyl bonus cuts from subsequent expanded editions.
Among them is the holiday single, All I Want For Christmas Is New Year’s Day, and the Arthur Baker remix of Wonderful Life.
Reflecting on the milestone while announcing a run of anniversary shows, the duo – starring Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson – wrote on Instagram: “The year 2025 marks the 15th anniversary of our debut album ‘Happiness’. It’s hard to believe these songs are 15 years old.
“The period of writing and releasing the record feels like a strange dream. Close but impossibly out of reach
“It was a kind of immaculate conception. 12 songs written pretty much in order, one after another. Like they were desperate to get out of us. Each of those songs has lived a million lifetimes since then.
“They’ve travelled to every corner of the world, and taken us along for the ride.”
‘Happiness (15th Anniversary Edition)’ is released on May 23 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
