Five Star singer Denise Pearson has gone solo with her new NHS charity single.
The star, who was 1/5 of the poptastic 80s group, will release You Raise Me Up – a Westlife cover to raise funds for NHS Charities Together – on May 6.
“We have recorded this song as a tribute to the Health and Social Care workers, Doctors and Nurses who lost their lives while saving many others during the Covid-19 pandemic,” says the star’s Just Giving page.
“They and those that continue to fight on the frontline are our heroes and every little bit we can do to support their efforts will make a difference.”
The track has been recorded remotely by Denise, Adrian Grant, Ian Oakley, and Mark Payne, who worked from their homes during lockdown.
The video for the song will debut during the online broadcast of the Visionary Honours award show, which celebrates inspirational culture, media and entertainment.
Tune into the Visionary Arts social media pages on Wednesday to hear the track for the first time, after which it’ll be available to download and stream.
Denise has so far raised over £2,000 with the project – almost half of her £5,000 total. Click here to donate.
