Elton John will reportedly be joined by Taron Egerton and Rina Sawayama during his headline set at Glastonbury on Sunday.
The music legend previously teased a line-up of guest appearances during the monumental show, which coincides with the end of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.
According to The Sun’s Bizarre column, Hollywood star Taron – who portrayed the Tiny Dancer singer in his biopic, ‘Rocketman’ – is among those set to feature.
Insiders shared: “Elton is going to give the performance of a lifetime at Glastonbury and has lined up some surprises for his fans at Worthy Farm. Taron will be coming out to sing alongside Elton after befriending him while making the film.
“The final plans are being kept a closely guarded secret but rehearsals are taking place and Elton has planned an entirely new set, different from the one on his tour, for the show.”
Meanwhile, festival goers on Twitter that heard Elton’s soundcheck revealed Rina will also be part of the show, with BBC music correspondent Mark Savage sharing: “As one mic was being tested, a member of the crew said: “One, two, one two. Rina mic, one, two.”
Elton and Rina joined forces in 2021 for a collaborative version of her track Chosen Family and the pop star performed a solo set on Saturday at the festival’s Woodsies Stage
Speaking to Sky News, Elton’s husband David Furnish teased his set, revealing three further big-name stars are set to appear.
He confirmed: “Four collaborators of his choosing. People he just thought, ‘I’d really like to do something with these artists at Glastonbury’. And that’s all I’m going to say. This one is very special. It’s not just another day in the office. It’s a different set-list, it’s a huge outdoor live festival.
“He’s got four different collaborators joining him on stage at different times, who I won’t name, sorry.
“So he’s done a lot of changes. [He has] A lot on his plate, so I think he’s anxious. But I think good anxious, healthy anxious.”
