Duran Duran will release their long-awaited 15th studio album ‘Future Past’ on October 22.
Ahead of the premiere of lead single Invisible on May 19, the group took to social media to announce their brand new album, confirming the LP will be available to pre-order from midnight.
“Duran Duran’s new album ‘FUTURE PAST’ will be available for pre-order at midnight,” they penned alongside the official album artwork.
Simon appeared on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Wednesday morning and explained that they didn’t feel it was the appropriate time to release a “party tune” due to the global pandemic, but insisted there are more upbeat numbers on the record.

He said: “We haven’t decided what order they are in yet and we haven’t finished some of them yet. But there is some really good music on there.”
“Invisible is a great way to start, I think, because it’s not a party tune. We didn’t feel it was right these days to come out with a party banger because we are still in these hard times, and I think ‘Invisible’ is the right opener for us – but we’ve got the party banger coming.”
A full track-listing will be confirmed in due course.
‘Future Past’ is available to pre-order now on various formats.
Speaking to Italian host Red Ronnie on his Red Ronnie TV livestream show, Duran Duran keyboard player Nick Rhodes previously teased further details of ‘Future Past’, revealing three producers have worked on the album, including disco legend Giorgio Moroder.
Nick also hinted at EDM tracks, a ballad, and some traditional Duran Duran rockier numbers. Graham Coxon appears on guitar.
Additionally, he confirmed the group was hard at work on an anthology collection to coincide with Duran Duran’s 40th anniversary. However, Nick admitted there’s an overwhelming selection of recordings to revisit – including an unreleased album’s worth of tracks from the ‘Astronaut’ sessions.
