Chart-topper Dua Lipa has named Kylie Minogue the Queen of Pop.
Both artists recently teamed up for a ‘Studio 2054 Remix’ of the Aussie star’s third ‘DISCO’ single Real Groove, following a performance on Dua’s global livestream show.
And the Physical star has nothing but good words to say about Kylie, admitting she’s “loved all her songs”.
Dua Lipa admits Kylie Minogue has been an inspiration to her since she was a child.
“Since before I was in year three I’ve loved Kylie. I’ve loved all her songs, her music videos, she’s such an icon, she’s the queen,” she told Australian radio station KIIS105.
“I think stylistically what we’re both doing has come at the perfect time and I think we’re both killing it.”
Kylie’s collaboration with Dua is expected to be one of a number of duets included on the singer’s forthcoming ‘DISCO’ deluxe reissue, due out later this year.
The album is also expected feature a new collaboration with Years & Years star Olly Alexander – after she helped out the Years & Years star by jumping on a remix of his track Starstruck – along with a Jessie Ware duet.
And Kylie is also set to appear on the new album from singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, having recorded vocals for his track Visiting Hours.
‘DISCO’ shattered UK chart records following its November release, landing Kylie at the top the UK charts and becoming the first female artist to score a No. 1 album across five consecutive decades.
In our review of the album, Retro Pop said ‘DISCO’ is “packed with upbeat, care-free ’70s inspired dance music – and, frankly, that’s just what we needed right now”.
