The legacy of Disco Queen Donna Summer is to be celebrated with a brand new selection of coloured vinyl reissues.
The five LPs, set to be released via Demon Music Group, include LPs from the 1980s and 1990s, beginning with ‘The Wanderer’. The single disc reissue is pressed on White Vinyl and follows an expanded re-release in 2020.
Subsequent albums include ‘Cats Without Claws’ (Translucent Pink Vinyl), ‘All Systems Go’ (Translucent Orange Vinyl), ‘Another Place and Time’ (Translucent Red Vinyl) and ‘Mistaken Identity’ (Translucent Yellow Vinyl).
‘The Wanderer’ and ‘Another Place and Time’ are released July 9, with ‘Mistaken Identity’ due August 20, and ‘All Systems Go’ and ‘Cats Without Claws’ coming October 29.
The reissues comes ahead of the new ‘I’m a Rainbow: Recovered & Recoloured‘ edition, featuring a new mix of the classic album, and after the late star’s estate confirmed an authorised documentary based on Donna’s life and career is in the works.
In a statement on social media, it was revealed: “The long awaited authorized documentary of one of the greatest vocalists is in production, and we are looking to you for help!
“Donna Summer is calling on her loyal fanbase to check those attics, dust off those boxes and dive into any treasured materials you may have been holding onto for a moment just like this!
“We have been working with Donna’s family to uncover untold treasures that will bring this film to life, but now we need YOU to show Donna’s story in a way that has never been done before!”
It continued: “Donna’s fans were family to her – her extensive journals speak to this – which is why we are asking you to help us portray the amazing, sometimes even life changing experiences that this legendary performer’s shows could have on those who were there at the time, and you can do this by sharing your beloved personal materials of Donna Summer.”
Items being sought include performance footage, photos, ticket stubs, T-shirts and vintage merchandise, plus press clippings, posters, advertisements and more.
