An account posing as the singer had fans worldwide convinced the country icon had joined the platform, but after earning over one million likes and almost as many followers, bosses from the social media platform banned the account because it was an imposter.
Eagle-eyed followers spotted the video of Dolly introducing herself to the site was actually filmed for her charity in 2020, hence why it appeared so convincing.
Maybe she’ll join the video sharing site one day soon…
Dolly Parton is the latest big name star to join TikTok.
The country icon surprised fans with her first video on the platform, sharing a much-needed message of positivity with her followers.
“Why hello, I guess I’m on TikTok!” she beamed. “I just dropped in to say that it will be OK.”

The Jolene hitmaker broke into song before offering up some words of reassurance, telling fans: “If I can do it, so can you… I believe in you.”
It didn’t take long for the Baby I’m Burnin’ hitmaker’s most loyal devotees to discover her video debut, which has already racked up over one million likes.
And it looks like it won’t be long until her follower-count matches that feat, with the singer’s page already boasting more than 750,000 followers.
