Dolly Parton has released her cover of Queen‘s We Are The Champions from her forthcoming album, ‘Rockstar’.
The track is the latest to be lifted from the country icon’s 49th studio LP, which arrives on the back of her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, and features an interpolation of the group’s classic hit, We Will Rock You.
It’s the fourth single to be released from the 30-song record and will be used to promote NBCU’s coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
“I love the Olympics! I do my best to plan my schedule to watch as much of it as I possibly can,” says Dolly. “I tape it just in case I miss the live action on a certain day and watch it back as soon as possible. I laugh, I cry, I scream, there are no losers in the Olympics as they have all spent a lifetime preparing but I celebrate with the ones that go away with the gold, silver, and bronze medals.”

Included on ‘Rockstar’ are nine original tracks and 21 iconic rock anthems, with Dolly “honoured and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time”.
“I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album ‘Rockstar’,” she says. “To be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure. I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”
‘Rockstar’ is due November 17 via Butterfly Records and will be available as a 4LP set, a 2CD set, and digitally.
