Dolly Parton’s bringing some country to Christmas with her new TV special.
The icon will serve up holiday hymns and winter classics in A Holly Dolly Christmas – an intimate, candlelit set which will also feature seasonal stories personal memories from the star herself.
The show will air on CBS is the US on December 6th and will also include renditions of tunes from her brand new festive album of the same name.
“I am so proud to be a part of the CBS family this holiday season with my new Christmas special,” she says in a press release.
“When Dolly Parton calls and tells you she wants to do a Christmas show, you don’t hesitate,” adds CBS executive Jack Sussman.
“A special with the multi-Grammy Award-winning, prolific song-writing, epic live performer of all time? She had us at hello. There’s only one Dolly Parton, and we are so excited to be bringing her to viewers this holiday season.”
Dolly is going all out for the holidays this year and will also star in Christmas on The Square, a new Netflix movie which debuts on November 22nd.
A Holly Dolly Christmas, which contains collaborations with Michael Bublé and Miley Cyrus, among others, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Holiday Albums chart in the US. It also landed in the UK Top 40.
Dolly’s other festive offerings include 1984’s Once Upon a Christmas with Kenny Rogers, featuring original classics like With Bells On, Christmas Without You and Hard Candy Christmas, and Home for Christmas in 1990, containing a selection of cover versions.
