The artwork and tracklist for Dead or Alive’s forthcoming album ‘Fan the Flame (Part 2) The Resurrection’ has been revealed.
It’s been 21 years since the group released their seventh and final studio album ‘Fragile’, but new unreleased music from the band has been unearthed for a new collection.
Featuring eight new tracks, the record is preceded by lead single Tonight…., out August 20, while it appears Hurt Me (Did U Have 2 Hurt Me) will be issued in September.
An announcement on the band’s official Facebook group reads: “At the time of the release of ‘SBB MMXVI’ [2016], Pete Burns and Steve Coy were planning to revisit an album that they had started to record in 1990.
“Unfortunately, tragedy struck and they didn’t get the opportunity to do so. ‘Fan The Flame (Part 2) The Resurrection’ is the culmination of the work that Pete and Steve recorded over the next four years but which was never fully completed.”
Ahead of pre-order for the album beginning August 18, artwork for the 2LP and A5 CD mediabook editions has been published, featuring Pete Burns dressed in a red suit with flames engulfing his outstretched arms in the shape of a phoenix.
A limited edition 1LP variant features exclusive artwork.
Marina Zacco Coy, Steve Coy’s wife, says: “Working over many months from the original multi-track tapes that have been in Steve’s archive for 30 years, these recordings have now been lovingly and painstakingly pieced together.
“The album has been especially planned for release on the eve of the 5th Anniversary of Pete leaving us.”
