Swedish pop favourite Darin has dropped his new track Holding Me More.
The ballad was co-written by Darin and Jamie Hartman, who helped the singer pen his recent hit Can’t Stay Away.
“This is definitely one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever sung,” he says of the single. “While I think anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak can probably relate to this song in one way or another, I feel that it hits different depending on how you’re feeling at any given time.
“There is a real bittersweet complexity to it, where the tenderness of reconciliation and nostalgia sits side-by-side with the pain of not being sure if you’ll ever able to trust that person completely again.”
He adds: “I’ve really enjoyed writing with the incredibly talented Jamie Hartman on this one and I can’t wait for you to hear more from our sessions.
“The clarity I’ve had from writing during lockdown has allowed me to feel free and has given me confidence to create my most authentic work yet.”
We recently caught up with Darin about his new music, with the singer-songwriter admitting recent global events gave him “a lot of time to think about things and that made me open up to this new style that I have”.
“What I’m doing now feels very natural,” he tells Retro Pop. “It very much represents the person I am today.
“The way I express myself is more colourful and more happy.”
