Damon Albarn has paid tribute to his late collaborator, De La Soul star Trugoy the Dove, with a touching piano performance.
The Blur and Gorillaz star shared the 55-second clip of him playing the moving piece after news of the musician’s passing broke on February 12.
He captioned the clip: “A loop for Dave. I love you.”
Damon worked with the musician – real name David Jolicoeur – on Gorillaz’s 2005 hit Feel Good Inc., which De La Soul also featured on.
The founding member of the hip-hop group had suffered from congestive heart failure in recent years, however a cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
The sad news was confirmed by the outfit’s publicist Tony Ferguson. Surviving members Posdnuos (Kelvin Mercer) and Maseo (Vincent Lamont Mason Jr) have yet to speak publicly about the loss.
