Claire Richards considered giving up her #Claireaoke web series *gasps* – but she’s holding on with a brand new cover.
The Steps powerhouse returned on Sunday with the latest instalment of her popular cover series, this time with a performance of Wilson Phillips’ Hold On.
However, the One For Sorrow star explained she considered skipping the tune altogether, telling fans: “I’ve got to be honest with you all – I was almost going to skip recording #Claireaoke for you guys today.
“Like so many of you, I’ve hit a bit of a brick wall because of lockdown and found the last few days incredibly tough,” she said.
“But then, I watched the incredible video Claire Richards Central organised with your lovely thank you videos & messages – it gave me that push I needed and inspired me to try out this song.
“It’s the Wilson Phillips anthem #HoldOn – the lyrics are very apt right now, so I hope it inspires you all to #HoldOnForOneMoreDay.
“Even when things are overwhelming, remember we will get through this, stronger than before. Sending you all love.”
Over the course of the #Claireaoke series, the singer has covered hits including Take That’s Said It All, Anastacia’s I’m Outta Love, Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath My Wings, Celine Dion’s I Surrender, Laura Branigan’s Gloria, Zedd’s Clarity, and her Steps audition song, River Deep, Mountain High.
