Cicero is back with his brand new single When Love Fades Away.
The Pet Shop Boys’ protégé has unveiled his latest recording across digital platforms – weeks after releasing his largely-instrumental album ‘Atmospheric’.
“Pump up the volume on a Monday,” he penned alongside a teaser for the electronic number.
The singer-songwriter, who released his debut album ‘Future Boy’ in 1992, returned to music last year with his long-awaited follow-up ‘Today’.
Speaking in the April 2022 edition of Retro Pop, Cicero reveals how his debut ‘Top of the Pops’ appearance was axed at the last minute to make way for Michael Jackson’s latest music video.
“I was meant to be on ‘Top of the Pops’ but Michael Jackson had his song Black or White out,” explains the singer.
“It had a 10-minute video and I was meant to be on ‘Top of the Pops’ but they said, ‘Sorry, we can’t have Cicero on this week because we’re going to show the 10-minute video from Michael Jackson’.”
He admits: “I was raging, because I was one of the highest climbers that week. I got to No. 19 and they showed about a two-second clip of Love is Everywhere and then they said, ‘Now we’re going to show you the video from Michael Jackson’.”
