Celine Dion made a surprise appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 4) night.
The singer took to the stage to present the final award of the night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, handing the Album Of The Year prize to Taylor Swift.
Speaking to the crowd before revealing the winner, the Taking Chances star said: “When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart.
“Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy music brings to our lives and people all around the world.”
In 2022, Celine revealed she had been diagnosed with the neurological disorder stiff-person syndrome, which caused her to reschedule and ultimately cancel her planned shows, and will be the subject of the new documentary film, ‘I Am: Celine Dion’.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100 per cent,” she said at the time.
“It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.
“I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”
A statement from her team continued: “We do have every hope that someday soon, Celine will be able to come to all of these cities in Europe to perform for her amazing fans, but that time simply is not now.”
