Carly Rae Jepsen has released the title track from her latest album ‘The Loneliest Time’.
The pop star has teamed up with Rufus Wainwright on the “disco power ballad,” with Carly admitting she’s thrilled to have landed the big-name collaboration.
“I can’t believe I finally get to say this… ‘The Loneliest Time’ (the song) ft @rufuswainwright comes out this Friday,” she tweeted.
“If you like 5-part string sections, 4:30+ track lengths, and disco power ballads… you might want to check it out.”
The track is lifted from Carly’s forthcoming sixth album, due later this month, which is preceded by the singles Western Wind, Beach House and Talking To Yourself.
In a statement about the album, Carly previously said: “I’m quite fascinated by loneliness. It can be really beautiful when you turn it over and look at it. Just like love, it can cause some extreme human reactions.”
‘The Loneliest Time’ is out October 21 and available to pre-order now.
Carly will debut new material from the LP during her ‘So Nice Tour’ across the US, which kicks off late September in Montreal and wraps early November in Chicago.
In early 2023, she’ll return to the stage with a string of UK tour dates in support of the LP. Beginning February 5 in Dublin, she’ll play eight shows with the trek wrapping with a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace.
