Britney Spears is anticipating a “very interesting” week ahead of her conservatorship hearing.
On Friday, a judge will rule whether or not to have the whole thing terminated and, in an Instagram post, Britney reflected on the next step on her journey to freedom.
Taking to Instagram, the Piece of Me hitmaker penned: “This week is gonna be very interesting for me !!! I haven’t prayed for something more in my life !!!
“I know I’ve said some things on my Insta out of anger and I’m sorry but I’m only human … and I believe you’d feel the same way if you were me!!!
“Anyway it’s a new day and I can’t say I’m never going to complain again… cuz who knows !!! God bless you all and have a great day. [sic]”
In court documents filed earlier this month, Jamie’s new lawyer, Alex M. Weingarten, requested the conservatorship be dissolved without “any caveat”.
Hehas also agreed to hand over all documents relating to his time as co-conservator of his daughter’s estate and insisted he has “nothing to hide”, after her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, vowed to investigate him amid claims he “profited off his daughter’s conservatorship”.
“Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter. Full stop,” Weingarten wrote.“As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her.
“For the last 13 years, that included serving as her conservator. Now, it means ending her conservatorship.”
Jamie was suspended from his role following a court hearing last month, in which the judge ruled that keeping him in charge of his daughter’s estate and affairs was “untenable”.
According to Page Six, Britney “burst into tears” upon hearing the judge’s decision, with sources revealing: “For the longest time, she had begun to think that she would never see the day that her father’s domineering control over every single aspect of her life would end, but it finally happened.”
And those close to Britney rushed to celebrate her happy news, with fiancé Sam Asghari writing: “Free Britney! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!”
He went on to credit the Toxic star’s followers for their role in the landmark decision, insisting: “Her fan base is called the army for a reason.”
Other stars who hit up social media to share their joy include Cher, who tweeted: “Thank God. I’ve talked and prayed about this for years. I’m more than thrilled for her. Bless our superstar.”
Dionne Warwick added, “This is wonderful news. She can now breathe. Congratulations, Britney. Enjoy your life,” while La Toya Jackson shared, “A huge congratulations,” with the singer.
