Britney Spears is the world’s most talked-about pop star right now as the debate around her conservatorship continues and the #FreeBritney movement continues to pick up momentum.

The star’s been absent from the charts for almost five years now, but producer Danja offered up renewed hope of new music as he shared a number of demo recordings with fans during an Instagram Live stream.

Britney Spears vows to return to the UK stage ‘very soon’ – but will ‘never’ perform in the US again

Danja was behind Britney’s 2007 album ‘Blackout’, which remains one of the stars most critically acclaimed albums to date, and during the stream, he called on RCA and Larry Rudolph, her label and manager, as he teased the recordings.

One track, Welcome to the Jungle, sounds like a mash-up of ‘Blackout’ with Britney’s latest LP, ‘Glory’, with both teasers featuring heavy electronic beats.

“That’s the sound of one of the Britney Spears demos,” he says after playing a second snippet, featuring a male vocal.

It remains unknown whether Britney plans to record the tracks – or whether she’s intending to hit the studio at all – as her legal battle continues to develop.

The teaser comes following the debut of ‘Framing Britney Spears‘, produced by The New York Times, which charts the …Baby One More Time hitmaker’s rise to pop stardom and the subsequent controversy over her welfare.

It features interviews with several people involved in the campaign to free the star from her controversial legal arrangement.

A description for the film reads: “People close to Britney Spears and lawyers tied to her conservatorship now reassess her career as she battles her father in court over who should control her life.”

The Gimme More star is currently locked in a legal battle against her father, Jamie Spears, who gained control over Britney’s life following her public breakdown in 2008.

According to reports, the Piece of Me hitmaker is refusing to return to the stage until Jamie steps down from overseeing her affairs.

While Britney has petitioned to have him permanently removed from her conservatorship, fans have also advocated for her freedom with the #FreeBritney campaign, which has garnered high-profile support and sparked much debate in recent weeks.
