Avril Lavigne has released an acoustic version of her latest hit Bite Me.
The track is the first to be issued from the star’s forthcoming seventh studio album, due 2022, under Travis Barker’s DTA label.
Ahead of its release, she told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 the track is “an anthem about knowing your worth, what you deserve, and not giving someone a second chance who doesn’t deserve you.”
“The first time we worked together was 15 years ago on my album ‘The Best Damn Thing’ and I have really enjoyed watching him develop into the producer that he is today,” she said of working with Travis.
“We spent a lot of time writing songs and working on this record together, and signing to his record label felt like the perfect home for me and my new music.”
The Sk8ter Boi singer recently teamed up with the Blink-182 star and Willow Smith for their track GROW and announced she’s signed a more permanent deal with the rocker
“Let’s f**k s**t up!” she posted. “Just signed a record contract to Travis Barker’s record label DTA Records! Should I drop my first single next week?”
