It comes after the group’s classic 1988 single A Little Respect was voted by listeners as the station’s Ultimate Pride Anthem.
The synth-pop duo, who recently released ‘The Neon Remixed’, beat stars including Cher, Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Steps to bag the No. 1 spot with the single, lifted from their third studio album ‘The Innocents’.
It was closely followed by Christina Aguilera’s hit Beautiful, which finished in second place, and Steps’ cover of Bee Gees’ Tragedy at three.
Virgin Radio Pride UK is now live on DAB in London, online or via the Virgin Radio app.
