Duran Duran have announced a new edition of their Halloween-themed 2023 album ‘Danse Macabre‘.
Titled ‘Danse Macabre De Luxe’, the updated album features three new bonus tracks including a re-recording of the band’s 1983 single New Moon On Monday (retitled New Moon (Dark Phase)) with Andy Taylor playing guitar.
Also included is a cover of ELO’s Evil Woman and the instrumental Masque Of The Pink Death.
Nick Rhodes says: “When we released our ‘Danse Macabre’ project last year it was born from a spontaneous decision to pull together a record which celebrated the madness and joy of Halloween.
“In doing so, we unlocked an unexpected box of curiosity and creativity, which led us to reimagine some of our older songs, record cover versions of some of our favourites, and write several new pieces.
“This year, the inspiration was somehow still lingering, and I loved the idea of expanding the collection, because we could… Why not add some of the songs that we considered initially now that we had the luxury of a little more time?”
The ‘De Luxe’ version will be released on CD and as a 3LP vinyl box set, which boasts a spirit board, metal planchette, bespoke tarot cards, four art prints and a booklet.
‘Danse Macabre De Luxe’ will also be released on Blu-Ray audio.
Pre-order ‘Danse Macabre De Luxe’, out October 25, from the Official Duran Duran Store.
