Blondie are back with ‘High Noon’, their long-awaited 12th studio album and first in nine years – check out the single ‘Spectral Eyes’ below.
Due February 26 on BMG, the album blends rock and roll and punk with dance and latin influences, featuring contributions from Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.
It also features the final recordings from Blondie co-founder and drummer Clem Burke, who died last year following a battle with cancer.
“This album is classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new,” says Debbie Harry. “This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now”
Chris Stein adds: “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the fuck I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.
The first taster of the record, ‘Spectral Eyes’, was written by and features Marr on guitar.
‘High Noon’ is released on February 26 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more, with exclusive signed editions and bundles available on Blondie’s Online Store. Listen to ‘Spectral Eyes’ Below.
