The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) have been pushed back due to a presidential election debate in the US.
Originally due to take place on September 10 in New York, the ceremony will now be held on September 11 to avoid clashing with Donald Trump and Kamala Harris’ first televised debate.
“Our fans are encouraged to tune in for the 9/10 debate ahead of music’s most iconic night,” MTV said in a press release.
The broadcaster also confirmed that Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla and Rauw Alejandro will all perform during the VMAs show.
Taylor Swift is the most nominated artist at this year’s MTV VMAs with 10 nominations, just ahead of Post Malone who has nine.
