A*Teens are set to reunite to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album, ‘The ABBA Generation’ (1999), with a huge performance at the Melodifestivalen Semi-Finals!
The Swedish group will mark their first official appearance together in two decades at the Eurovision selection show, with original members Marie Serneholt, Dhani Lennevald, Sara Lumholdt and Amit Paul all on board for the comeback.
Starting out as an ABBA cover band, the four-piece quickly found success globally and even broke through in the US, where they served as an opening act on Britney Spears’ ‘Oops! … I Did It Again’ tour in 2000.
After releasing ‘The ABBA Generation’ album of updated classics such as Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and Take A Chance On Me, the band put out their first album of original material, ‘Teen Spirit’, in 2001, scoring hits such as Upside Down and Halfway Around The World and touring with Aaron Carter in 2001.
Their third album, ‘Pop ‘Til You Drop!’, came the following year, with the band’s final release – a greatest hits – arriving in 2004, prior to their split.
In the years since, Serneholt and Lumholdt have worked on TV shows including Sweden’s ‘The X Factor’, while Lennevald is a music producer and Paul is a businessman.
