Oasis look set to return to the top of the UK Albums Chart this week with ‘The Masterplan’.
Thanks to a 25th anniversary reissue, the group’s B-sides collection – gathering cuts from 1994’s ‘Definitely Maybe’, 1995 LP ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ and 1997’s ‘Be Here Now’ – the LP looks set to better its initial No. 2 placement.
If it maintains the position, it’ll become the band’s first chart-topper since the 2010 hits compilation, ‘Time Flies… (1994-2009)’.
Behind Oasis is BTS star Jung Kook, whose debut solo LP is on track to hit No. 3, making it the highest-charting solo album from a member of the K-pop band.
Behind him, Cliff Richard is on track for his 48th Top 10 album with ‘Cliff With Strings – My Kinda Life’ at No. 4, while Johnny Marr could secure his fifth Top 10 solo placement with ‘Spirit Power: The Best Of’ at No. 6.
It comes as The Beatles are also set for a return to the top spot over on the singles chart, as their “final song” Now And Then – which is currently outselling the Top 5 combined – looks certain to debut at No. 1.
