P!nk showed support for fellow pop icon Britney Spears by changing the lyrics to her hit single, Don’t Let Me Get Me.
News broke this week that Britney is in the midst of a divorce from her husband Sam Asghari, following just over a year of marriage.
Performing on stage during her ‘Summer Carnival’ show in Detroit on Wednesday, P!nk reintroduced the classic track, originally featured on her 2000 LP, ‘M!ssundaztood’, to the set for the first time in six years and altered the lyrics in light of recent events.
P!nk switched out the song’s original line, ‘Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears’, to ‘sweet Britney Spears’, with the crowd reacting positively to the shout-out.

Earlier this year, the Never Gonna Not Dance Again hitmaker admitted she feels “very protective” of Britney in an interview with People.
“People think I was picking on Britney on (my 2001 single) Don’t Let Me Get Me, but I’ve always felt like a big sister to her,” she shared. “I’m very protective of her, and she’s the sweetest person in the world.”
According to the divorce filing, Britney and Sam were married for 14 months and split three weeks ago, on July 28.
