Kylie Minogue will reportedly release the long-awaited first single from her 16th studio album this month.
The superstar – whose 15th and most-recent album, ‘DISCO’, arrived in 2020 – has been hard at work on the project, details of which are being kept under wraps.
But according to The Sun’s Bizarre column, Kylie will unveil the lead single from the record ahead of her 55th birthday on May 28.
“Kylie has finally finished the album and is now raring to go with her return to music,” said insiders. “It is being kept under lock and key and hardly anyone at her label has even heard it.
“The first single will be revealed later this month. It’s classic Kylie and is sure to go down well with her fans.”
It’s believed Kylie has worked on the track with Lost Boy, whose credits include Ava Max, Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora.
It was previously reported that song titles for the project include When You Love Someone, Hold On To Now and Tension, and producer Sky Adams, with whom Kylie worked on hits like Dancing and Stop Me From Falling, is believed to be involved in the recording.
Talk of the new album comes after Kylie released her first new music since 2021 with the Oliver Heldens collaboration 10 Out of 10, which is set to feature on expanded editions of her 16th studio album.
In February, the Love at First Sight hitmaker delivered a stellar eight-song set as she returned to the stage at Sydney WorldPride – including a surprise appearance from her sister Dannii.
The pop superstar packed in the hits for the hotly-anticipated performance, delivering classics like Spinning Around, Can’t Get You Out of My Head and Slow, along with fan-favourites Light Years, Get Out of My Way and Supernova.
Closing out the set, Dannii joined her sister for a duet version of her 2010 single All The Lovers, with the pair sporting dazzling pink and blue outfits for the number.
Released in 2020, her most recent LP ‘DISCO’ topped the UK Charts and saw Kylie become the first female artist to land a No. 1 in five consecutive decades.
