German synthwave star NINA has joined forces with Greek pop artist Kid Moxie on their new collaborative EP ‘Lust’.
Clocking in at five tracks, the collection was born when the pair initially connected over a desire to create their own version of Jennifer Lopez’s hit Waiting For Tonight, which eventually led to the rising stars teaming up on a handful of tracks.
That cover was released on the Italians Do It Better’s ‘After Dark Vol. 4’ compilation last summer, after which the pair signed with the label for their new body of work.
Leading the set, its title song was released as a single alongside an edgy and seductive neo-noir visual, shot in Athens by director Paige Von Bank.
Also on the EP, multi-instrumentalist Radio Wolf contributes his guitar magic to Electric Kiss and Waiting For Tonight, while Skylar Funk adds ‘Blade Runner’-like sax flair to Crime.
“‘Lust’ is an album that encapsulates themes that I find eternally exciting like desire, old Hollywood, and night drives,” Kid Moxie shares of the project. “I’ve never had a partner in crime before and NINA, from the beginning, felt like the perfect match to explore this neon noir universe with.”
NINA adds: “‘Lust’ was a compelling project for me because I had never experimented with
themes of erotica before. Collaborating with Kid Moxie was lots of fun and I think this album’s sound is dark yet playful.
“We don’t take ourselves too seriously while still maintaining a mysterious edge.”
