The Fizz recreated their Eurovision-winning performance of Making Your Mind Up during Sunday night’s edition of ‘Dancing On Ice’.
Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan and Jay Aston appeared on the show alongside comedian Darren Harriott and professional skater partner Tippy Packard, who skated to the track as part of Dance Week.
Darren started on the stage with the trio – taking the place of original Bucks Fizz member Bobby G – before stepping out onto the ice as they delivered the skirt-ripping routine.
Meanwhile on the ice, the funnyman ripped off his yellow trousers to reveal a pair of tight gold shorts.
He was awarded 26.5 points out of a possible 40 for his swing routine, during a show that saw the stars take on various styles such as disco, paso doble, and cheerleading.
Judge Jayne Torvill told him, ‘I think you’re capable of more,’ while Christopher Dean said: ‘Give us more skating.’
Ashley Banjo added: ‘I think you’re a great performer – I think you have great energy. I think I would like you to be more refined. I felt this week you really brought the full package.’
The Fizz will return to the stage this spring with a gig at Indigo @ The O2 as a belated celebration in honour the 40th anniversary of their debut.
Taking place on March 31, the show will feature cuts spanning the trio’s career with Bucks Fizz, alongside their more recent material, including new album ‘Everything Under The Sun’.
Tickets for the show are on general sale from December 2 at 11 am GMT.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘Everything Under The Sun’ the group’s strongest collection yet, writing the album is “drenched in nostalgia and sonically how one would imagine Bucks Fizz would have sounded had they teamed up with Stock Aitken Waterman during their original run.”
‘Everything Under The Sun’ is available now.
