A new remix of Wham!’s classic hit Club Tropicana has been released.
The 1983 single has been reworked by songwriter/producer Dru Masters in collaboration with Andrew Ridgeley.
Speaking about the project, the musician shared his ambition to present a new generation with “the wonder and joy of the carefree and heady days of youth”.
“It is the soundtrack to summer renewed and reaffirmed and I hope it conveys the same vitality and pleasure George [Michael] and I imagined in the original recording,” he added.
It comes after Andrew revealed details of an “exciting” new Wham! project in a post on social media. He wrote: “I’ve been working on a really fab new project and I need your help!
“Do you have any footage of WHAM! that you took back in the day? Whether it’s a picture you took with myself or George, or a video of us in concert, I’d really love to see it!”
He added contributions “may just become part of something very special”.
