Kelly Clarkson is hoping to follow in Taylor Swift’s tracks and re-record her earliest material.
The singer shot to fame after winning the inaugural series of ‘American Idol’ back in 2002 and, 20 years on, she’s considering revisiting her first records all over again.
But while Taylor re-recorded her songs for legal reasons, Kelly simply prefers her more mature vocals.
“I would. It’s because I feel my voice is stronger than it was when I was 19,” she said of the idea (via The Sun). “I feel like my range is bigger and it is a different voice.
“It would be interesting to record the songs that I love and even some of the hits that I actually can’t listen to because sometimes the producer keeps you there for so long because they want it exact.
“At this stage of my life it would be really fun to do.”
Kelly’s plans come after she released her second holiday album ‘When Christmas Comes Around’, featuring lead track Christmas Isn’t Cancelled (Just You).
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ “confident and cohesive” and noted “Kelly’s got the Christmas album formula down to an art”.
