Alphabeat have called time on their career on stage with a final concert in Denmark.
The group dominated the UK charts in the late ‘00s/early ‘10s with hits including 10,000 Nights of Thunder, Boyfriend, The Spell and Fascination.
They returned in 2019 with fourth album ‘Don’t Know What’s Cool Anymore’ and, two years later, they’re stepping away from the stage for good.
Ahead of Saturday’s gig, they penned: “READY FOR TONIGHT… The final Alphabeat show is just a few hours away.
“Excited, emotional, let’s go,” they added.
Sharing a shot from their farewell concert, the group later wrote: “… and that’s it. What a night!”
The shows saw the group joined by the Joyful Voices gospel choir and featured all the hits plus album cuts including Nothing but My Baby, Heat Wave and Gold Mine.
They closed out the set with recent track Sing a Song.
Following the show, fans rushed to social media to thank the group for almost two decades of music.
“Alphabeat have been one of the most underrated pop bands of the 21st century,” said one user. “They made four insanely catchy, super-fun albums that I’ll always go back to.
“Thanks Alphabeat, you were great.”
Journalist Sophie Adams added: “Farewell to one of the most underrated pop bands of the past two decades. I’m still refusing to believe it’s the end.”
While the shows mark the end of Alphabeat’s performing career, they’ve yet to confirm whether new music is off the cards. However, it appears they’ll be taking a break to work on different projects, with frontwoman Stine Bramsen recently releasing her solo track What I Want You to Do.
