The Wanted star Tom Parker is doing well following his brain tumour diagnosis, according to bandmate Max George.
The singer confirmed in October last year that he has been diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma and has been undergoing treatment for the condition.
During an appearance on ‘Good Morning Britain’ with Charlotte Hawkins and Sean Fletcher, the Glad You Came singer opened up on his pal’s health.
Charlotte said: “I have to ask how Tom is because obviously he just mentioned the other day that it was a year since he had the seizure that then led to his brain tumour being diagnosed.
“It kind of rocked his world. I imagine it came as a huge shock to all of you as well.”
Max responded: “Yeah of course, it was a massive shock. Honestly he’s doing amazingly well. Tom is a different breed of animal and he’s tackling it with everything.
“He’s just set up a concert at Royal Albert Hall called ‘Inside My Head’ for Stand Up To Cancer. I’ll be sitting front row there.”
As Charlotte praised Tom’s positivity, Max beamed: “Tom gets on with everything. I look forward to seeing him.”
Becky Hill, McFly and KSI will also be featuring in the show, with Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay on hosting duties.
More artists are set to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Tom’s health scare hasn’t stopped him from working; he’s making a documentary about his diagnosis and even discussed a potential The Wanted reunion with Max – eight years after they went on hiatus.
“I love the boys, the band, the buzz, the fans, the music… I love it all,” he recently revealed
“I would love to do it again. I’ve spoken to Tom a lot and he was like, ‘Yeah, cool. If it happens, it happens’.
“Despite everything he is going through, I know Tom would do it tomorrow. The boys are all over the place doing their own thing. They are all really successful.
“But would I do it? A million per cent I would.”
