Gary Barlow has a “busy end to the year” with plans to release a new studio album. 

The Take That frontman has been busy promoting his fifth solo LP ‘Music Played by Humans’, which topped the UK Albums Chart in November 2020. 

And less than a year since its release, the Incredible singer has revealed plans for a second collection of new music. 

In a post on social media, he wrote: “I’m having a little planning morning. You know I love a plan. 

“I’ve got an extremely busy end to the year. New record and tour. Fingers crossed it will all go ahead. 

“I know everything still feels so uncertain but planning anything feels positive. Whether it happens or not. Onwards.”

Although Gary, who returned to screens with his new BBC special ‘I’m With the Band’ earlier this month, hasn’t revealed further details, he recently hinted at a synth-pop direction.

The Back For Good singer showcased his love of swing on recent tracks but, according to the musician, its synth classics like Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough that first enticed him to music.

He recently said: “Once I saw that on ‘Top of the Pops’ I wanted a keyboard. My music has never really reflected my passion for synthesizers, I do it as a hobby on the side, but who knows in the future?”

And after meeting up with pal Vince Clarke, he hinted his hobby could soon bleed over into his music career after the pair had “a b**ody ball” spending time together going through there Erasure star’s collection of instruments.

“He’s got a synth museum in his basement and, Christ, I was there all afternoon,” Gary admitted.
