Britney Spears appears to have slammed recent documentaries about her life in her latest Instagram post.

The Womanizer singer was recently the subject of the New York Times/Hulu feature ‘Framing Britney Spears’ and, over the weekend, a new show ‘The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship’ debuted on the BBC.

However, in a post on social media, Britney seemingly slammed speculation surrounding her controversial legal situation, which has been in place since 2008, saying she’s “deeply flattered” by the attention but slamming the documentaries for doing the “same thing” as the media.

In the caption of a video of herself dancing, she penned: “geez ! ! ! ! 2021 is definitely way better than 2020 but i never knew it was gonna be like this ! ! ! !

“So many documentaries about me this year with other people’s takes on my life … What can i say … Im deeply flattered ! ! ! ! These documentaries are so hypocritical … They criticize the media and then do the same thing ? ? ? ? ? [sic]”

Britney went on to insist she doesn’t appreciate the “most negative and traumatising times” from her past being the “highlight” of the new shows, adding: “im thrilled to remind you all that although i’ve had some pretty tough times in my life … I’ve had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life and unfortunately my friends … I think the world is more interested in the negative ! ! ! !

“I mean … Isn’t this supposed to be a business and society about the future ? ? ? ? Why highlight the most negative and traumatizing times in my life from forever ago ? ? ? ? I mean damn …

“On a lighter note … This is a video of me dancing ! ! ! ! I have so many trips i’m looking forward to taking this summer and i can’t wait to dance in different studios ! ! ! ! I’m hoping to get a miniature koi pond in my backyard as well ! ! ! ! I know i’m weird but hey … It’s the little things you know …

“And i’m so grateful for my beautiful backyard ! ! ! ! @betterhomesandgardens should put me on their cover … I’m no @marthastewart that’s for sure … But i will tell you i have the finest garden here in la ! ! ! ! I hope you’re all living your best lives and s*** or as @parishilton would say sliving! ! ! … I know i am ! ! ! ! [sic]”

Signing off the note, the Radar hitmaker denied her social media posts are being written by someone other than herself, as former make-up artist Billy Brasfield suggested in the recent UK documentary.

She concluded: “Pssss i dont actually talk to billy b at all so im honestly very confused ! ! ! This is my instagram ! ! ! ! Psssss no paparazzi guy … I didnt want you and your crew following me around ! ! ! ! [sic]”

Billy had said: “The content is her, but… the words are NOT how she feels.”

And it seems his words resonated with fans, who soon had Britney trending on Twitter as they speculated about the meaning behind her latest online actions.

Numerous users supporting the #FreeBritney movement insisted they didn’t believe the words in the post had come from the pop star, saying they’d only believe her if Britney herself spoke out in a clip instead of sharing typed messages.

Reminder: The Britney Spears’ social media accounts aren’t owned or used by her. In late 2018, the accounts were trademarked by “Baby One More Time LLC” and because of this abusive conservatorship she is in, her father technically owns these accounts. #FreeBritney pic.twitter.com/J42FcsNSp5

Meanwhile, one account shared alleged court documents that apparently showed Britney’s social media channels are trademarked by Baby One More Time LLC and, under the conservatorship, are owned by her dad Jamie. Retro Pop is unable to verify the authenticity of the documents published online.

Jamie has been Britney’s conservator since the arrangement was put in place in 2008 but, since Jodi Montgomery was made co-conservator in 2019 when she stepped in to replace Jamie as he battled health issues, the singer has requested he relinquish complete control to her.

Britney has never argued against her conservatorship, but now that her father and mother Lynne are squabbling over financial arrangements, it is believed the Toxic star is planning to step in and have her say on the issue.

Judge Brenda Penny appointed officials at Bessemer Trust as co-conservator alongside her father last year, but that arrangement has not yet taken effect.

A hearing has been set for June 23.
