Claire Richards paid tribute to Take That with a stunning cover version, following the pair’s recent virtual collaboration.
Last week, the singer teamed up with Gary Barlow and stepped into the shoes of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper for a performance of the A Star is Born track Shallow, which was recorded from their respective homes as part of Barlow’s Crooner Sessions.
After gushing she was “genuinely SO thrilled” to sing with the Back For Good star, the Steps powerhouse once again paid tribute to Gary with a version of his song, Said It All.
“When I was 14 years old I became obsessed with a band called Take That<‘ she wrote, introducing the clip. “My friends and I would eat frozen pizza and watch their videos every lunchtime, I stewarded their gigs at Wembley Arena when I was a bit older and at on point or another had a crush on each member of the group!
“I even convinced myself I could sing like Gary Barlow”
The One For Sorrow star continued: “This week I got the chance I’d been hoping for after nearly 30 years to sing with the man himself. So for today’s #Claireoke I thought I’d sing one of fave Take That songs as a thank you to the legend that is @Gary Barlow. (Pretty sure I don’t sound like him anymore).
“Thank you sir, you made my inner 14 year old very happy. Hope you all enjoy, here’s #SaidItAll.”
The On My Own star’s #Claireaoke series has seen her cover a number of hits, including Anastacia’s I’m Outta Love, Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath My Wings, Celine Dion’s I Surrender, Laura Branigan’s Gloria, Zedd’s Clarity, and her Steps audition song, River Deep, Mountain High.
