Mariah Carey can’t help but throw shade at Jennifer Lopez in her new memoir.
The two hitmakers have ever quite seen eye to eye, with their feud coming to a head, according to reports, when her ex-husband Tommy Mottola gave J.Lo the sample to Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Firecracker for her song I’m Real – despite Mariah already planning to use it on Loverboy.
Since then, the pair’s relationship has become legendary, after Mariah answered “I don’t know her” when asked about the On The Floor singer – and she reiterates the point once more in The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
In a review of the tome by the L.A. Times, it is revealed that she refuses to print Lopez’s name, instead referring to her as “another female entertainer on [Sony] (whom I don’t know)”.
Mariah has been teasing the publication during recent interviews and told Vulture she doesn’t hold back in the memoir. She explained: “I cried writing a lot of parts of this book. Maybe it’s because I have such vivid recollections
“You know what? I’m sure I’m going to have to deal with a lot of people being upset with me.”
