Toni Braxton is making a comeback with her 10th studio album, Spell My Name, due for release in August.
The He Wasn’t Man Enough hitmaker returned to the charts earlier this year with the slow-burning single Do It, and on Friday she dropped the follow-up, Dance. The tune had previously been released in its remix form by producer Dave Aude.
Taking to social media to promote the record, which is available to pre-order now ahead of its 28 August release, Toni simply captioned a post of the album cover, “#TakingOutNegativeInfluence”.
While she didn’t explain the hashtag, it appeared to be a message of defiance after her sister Tamar opened up on her recent overdose, as she named “toxic” people in the reality TV industry responsible for her mental health issues.
Spell My Name follows the 2018 Grammy-nominated Sex & Cigarettes, which included hit singles Deadwood, Coping and Long As I Live. Toni brought her As Long As I Live tour to London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith last November.
