Wheatus will return to the road this autumn with a massive tour of the UK and Ireland, celebrating 20 years since the release of their eponymous debut album.
It was back in 2000 that the band released their first long-player – featuring the global smash hit single Teenage Dirtbag – and while they’ve toured consistently in the years since, plans to mark the milestone were thwarted by the onset of Covid in 2020.
Now, they’re making up for lost time with a run of live dates through September and October, of which frontman Brendan B Brown says: “We toured the UK, Ireland and Europe eighteen years in a row from 2001-2019, some years more than once. The pandemic has paused that tradition since 2020.
“This opportunity to return is more precious to us than all the other years combined and we’re gonna throw the kitchen sink at it”.
Launching in Manchester on September 15, the group will play cities including Leeds, Glasgow, Cardiff and London, before wrapping in Dublin on October 29.
Tickets go on general sale Thursday, April 6 at 10am BST.

Alongside the live dates, Wheatus will reissue their classic debut album as an extended 20-track set, featuring a host of previously-unheard material.
“We found demos of ten more songs from throughout the band’s history that had such an album-one vibe that they never made it onto our more recent records,” adds Brendan. “So now we’re giving them a proper chance to be heard.
“The new 20-song expanded version of the album will feature the originally conceived tracklisting and sequence, plus the extra ten songs that have finally found a home on a record.”
The 20th anniversary edition of ‘Wheatus’ is due December 1. Pre-order links to follow.
