Wham! and Mariah Carey are already in the UK Top 40 with their holiday staples.
It’s become customary for the ‘80s pop duo and US diva to dominate the charts over the festive season, but this year they enter the rundown earlier than ever before.
This week, Last Christmas by Wham! re-enters at No. 37, while Mariah’s All I Want For Christmas Is You is at No. 40.
According to data from OfficialCharts, it breaks the record for the earliest re-entry, set by Mariah whose single appeared during the third week of November last year.
If recent chart history is anything to go by, both are likely to top the countdown at some point over the next seven weeks, with Mariah reaching the summit last December and Wham! landing the final No. 1 of 2022.
