Kylie Minogue made a surprise appearance at Capital presents Summertime Ball with Barclaycard for a performance of her hit single Padam Padam.
Dressed in the red outfit she adorns in the song’s video, the pop icon took to the stage at London’s Wembley Stadium for a crowd-pleasing rendition of her latest hit, along with her classic single Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.
She appeared on a line-up including Ellie Goulding, Jonas Brothers and Niall Horan, although her involvement was not announced until moments before the performance took place.

Padam Padam is in touching distance of the UK Top 10 as the lead single from Kylie’s upcoming 16th album, ‘Tension’, is currently sitting at No. 12, tying her 2014 single Into The Blue as her highest peak in almost a decade.
Having peaked at No. 6 in the midweeks, the track has proven a slow burn, entering at No. 26 and later climbing to No. 23.
It doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere, with an extended mix released to digital platforms this week and a cassette single available via her online store.

Padam Padam is one of 11 tracks on ‘Tension’ – alongside previous release 10 out of 10 with Oliver Heldens – of which Kylie says: “I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song.
“I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
For the LP, the pop icon has worked with a number of producers, with seven of the tracks being produced and co-written with her long-time collaborators, Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell.
Discussing the recording process, Kylie adds: “I loved being back in the studio with my collaborators but was also able to benefit from remote recording, which we have all got used to – my mobile studio never left my side for a year and a half!
“The album is a mix of songs I have written and songs which really spoke to me. Making this album helped me navigate challenging times and celebrate the now. I hope it accompanies listeners on their own journeys and becomes part of their story.”
